Illustrations and Design
Illustrators are a key part of the editorial process for books, especially children’s books. Rose, while creating and brainstorming the activities, produced her own wonderful illustrations. The publishers then hired illustrators for the author and the book. Rose's first book was illustrated by Jane Walmsley who changed some key things Rose had originally conceived, such as changing the dog character to a fuzzy creature. This is not changing the main ideas of the author but creating a product that will succeed and hit the target audience.
