'Mini Maths' Proposal Letter

The first draft or a proposal package are what is eventually sent to the publishing companies and agents. However, to do this traditionally authors will normally have an agent send it, as this increases the odds of getting a successful proposal due to agents having better knowledge of the industry. Rose worked with the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency and, for the first couple of series, with the June Hall Literary Agency. This process can take a bit of time and authors need to exhibit their best work to attract companies to take on their book. The other part of a proposal, especially for children’s workbooks, is that the author needs to know what gap their book will fill in the children's non-fiction market. All these factors play into whether an author will get a successful bid.

There are several proposals in the collection that Rose drafted. Each show what the book or book series was needed for and what the basic titles and themes might be for the new books.
