Fortunately, the, one of the, the joint Secretary was a chap called John Stapleton. He still lives locally. He lives out of town. He was a sound recordist. And, of course, I used to look at, he was a bit of a loner was John, ‘cause he liked to be on his own. He was a photographer, sound recorder, so I didn't bother him too much. But I always remember, I saw him once and he was at one of the local gravel pits, and he was on his own, and it was summer, and all these swallows were going around in a circle feeding over the gravel pit, over the insects, because it was quite stormy, and there he was with his headphones on, parabolic reflector there, and, and he saw me coming and he said, put these headphones on. And I put those headphones on, and I thought that's it, that's done it, one day I'm going to be a sound recordist. I had just heard the sound of these swallows going round and round, that did it. So, he was the only one who was sound recording. Very little, very, there were very few people did it. Very few amateurs did it then, in ‘66 even. Very few amateurs did it. It was just a few top people.
