Earle Robinson, born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1935 before moving to Leicester as a teenager, was a committed activist throughout his life, and was instrumental to the foundation and survival of the Leicester Afro-Caribbean Centre. This photo shows him receiving an award in London at an event sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, aimed at highlighting the work community work of activists up and down the country. This photo was originally shown in The Times, and reproduced in the Leicester Mercury.
