Dances at De Montfort Hall. We'd go up on the balcony and watch the girls and the American jitterbugging. But if I can remember rightly, they had it stopped because one or two girls got hurt, because they used to throw them from one to the other, you know, like you see on the films, you know, I think they stopped that then. I worked with three sisters and they had a whale of a time at Rothley with the Americans. They had them right and left - they'd go in a pub and they’d give them a fiver, they’d give them change of a pound.
